Why USF?...
The large variety of undergraduate majors influenced my decision to attend USF. I was an undeclared major and the USF advising officers really helped me become aware of all the majors available and guided me towards what was right for me. USF also has a great location, right in the city and only 20 minutes away from the beach.

First day ...
My first day of classes was very exciting! I was very comfortable in the huge campus because of my university experience class. The class is great for incoming freshmen because it starts two weeks before the fall classes. The class shows students how to get to important buildings on campus before the actually fall semester classes start and highlights all the university’s resources as and how to use them.

Living the campus life ...
I lived in Beta Hall the all freshmen dorm and it was one of the best college experiences. My resident assistant was really helpful and I met some of closes friends whom I am still in contact with today. I also lived in Epsilon Hall my sophomore year. I would recommend everyone to live on campus!

Activities ...
My favorite thing to do is try new ethic foods at restaurants. Since Tampa is so diverse, you can find all types of food from different cultures anywhere you go.

Student activities ...
I have been involved in the Project Thrust Corporate Mentor Program for two years. One of the most important aspects of business is networking and the program gives students a great opportunity to do so. The program is a great asset to the business college because it creates valuable connections between students and surrounding large firms as well as lasting relationships between the student and mentor. The program also offers workshops that help students prepare for the job interview process and the work environment.

Professors ...
The professors at USF are great, they really care about you as an individual not just a student. One of my favorite professors is Mike Luckett who teaches Professional Selling. His course material can be used in a business setting to make any difficult situation easier to manage.

Transition ...
My transition between high school and college life was scary. I had moved to Florida to go to USF right after high school and did not know anyone, but everyone was so nice, I made friends very quickly.

Multiculturalism ...
The cultural diversity at USF has helped me become more aware of other nationalities as well as my own. I learned a lot about my culture through my involvement at VSA my freshmen year. I think it is important to learn about other cultures as well as your own, and VSA gave me the opportunity to do so.

Metropolitan area ...
USF’s location is beneficial to me because it is a major metropolitan area. I have the ability to transition into my career in Tampa because of the rich job opportunities available.

Global ...
USF gave me a great opportunity to be involved in the USF Saint Petersburg Doing Business in China and Vietnam Study Abroad Program. Going study abroad has helped me become aware of the unique things other countries have to offer! I had 3 great professors, who have a strong passion and immense knowledge in regards to traveling since they have all been to many countries all over the world. Professor Tom Ainscough, Professor Todd Shank and Professor Michael Luckett sparked my new found interest in traveling abroad!
