5 things I love about USF:

1. Diversity - there are people from everywhere here
2. Sense of Community -  it's a great collegiate atmosphere with all the big city amenities
3. Services - there are services for just about everything that you can imagine, there is always someone willing to offer help and advice.
4. Atmosphere -  sometimes being on campus you forget that you are a part of such a large community outside of the university. It's like going to a school in a smaller town, but you have everything a city has to offer at your fingertips.
5. Faculty - the faculty all have a general passion for what they do and it translates into the curriculum and the interaction in the classroom.

Caryn, Political Science major

Why USF?...
I decided to attend USF because it was close enough to home that I could see my friends and family fairly often, but far enough away that I could become a more independent person. It was also a big plus for me that I would be able to complete both of my degrees in just four years.

First Day...
My first day on campus, I got lost. The campus seemed like it was so big and I never thought I would adjust, but now I wouldn’t have had it any other way…I probably wouldn’t mind if it was a little bigger.

Living the campus life ...
I loved the time that I lived on campus; it is an experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world. I made friends that I probably never would have met if it hadn’t been for my time on campus.

Student activities ...
Being a part of the Green and Gold Guides here on campus has really helped me to become more outgoing and to meet more people here on campus. It has also been a great way to work on my public speaking skills as well as the way that I communicate. I also learned about all the different things that go on here because I need to know what is offered so that I can share how great USF is with prospective students.

Activities ...
A great (FREE) way to be entertained on campus is by doing some of the events that are offered by the Campus Activities Board (CAB) such as Movies on the Lawn (MOTL), Patio Tuesdays or Bulls Nite Out.

Professors ...
The professors here are so into their subject areas. A favorite of mine is Dr. Gibbons in Government and International Affairs. He teaches Political Theory which can be a little dry and boring, but he makes it interesting and exciting.

Transitioning ...
The University Experience Class helped to bridge the gap by letting me know what the university had to offer and where I could go to get what I needed while I am here.

Multiculturalism ...
Everyone benefits from the cultural diversity at USF because it prepares us all as members of an international community to understand different cultures and points of view.

Metropolitan area ...
Being in Tampa has helped me to envision myself possibly living outside of Central Florida; it has shown me that each city has something else to offer.

Global ...
USF has prepared me globally by expanding my mind, my understanding and my perspective toward people and the world.
