The Treasurer has primary responsibility for managing the University’s working capital and borrowed funds. 

The Treasurer also has responsibility for the following:

Organizational

  • Chair the Finance Council
  • Coordinate treasury functions within the University and between the University and its Direct Support Organizations and Component Units

Functional

  • Establish and maintain financial policies
  • Manage cash and banking relationships
  • Investment management and loans
  • Manage debt, derivatives and capital market relationships
  • Capital budgeting
  • Risk management
  • Coordinate tax policy
  • Performance measurement and financial planning
  • Transfer pricing/costing
  • Interpret state and federal rules, regulations and laws related to the treasury function
